I recently filmed a fascinating workshop at Leith Academy, where pupils embarked on an innovative project to create a 'data driven actor' - a robot designed using VizBlocks to express emotions of characters in a story written by the students themselves.
The pupils were hands-on in designing their robots, programming them to react emotionally to data, effectively bringing their stories to life. This project was an exploration of their experiences living in a world that's both online and offline, highlighting how people's behavior can change in digital spaces.
This initiative was part of Civic Digits' Artist Residency and the Edinburgh International Festival’s residency at Leith Academy. It's a perfect blend of technology, storytelling, and education.
