Portrait & Interview: James Brining, Artistic Director at the Lyceum

I had the pleasure of photographing and filming an interview with James Brining, the new Artistic Director of the Lyceum Theatre, as he takes over from David Greig. Over the past 11 years I’ve had the chance to work with three of the Lyceum’s artistic directors and it is always a privilege to work for the theatre.

We managed to capture a lot in one shoot, exploring locations inside the building and even heading up onto the rooftop with Edinburgh Castle as our backdrop. The portraits will be used across press and communications and we also filmed James introducing the coming season and a Q&A on his plans as Artistic Director.

James was great to work with and his genuine joy at taking on this role in a city he clearly loves really came through. Thanks to Agnieszka and Anna from the comms team for keeping everything on track and making the day run smoothly.
